Gritscone is a chunk of conglomerate sandstone deposited in a terminal moraine during the last ice age about 12,000 years ago. Translation - it’s a big rock. If you’re just learning how to rock climb this is a great place to visit. The routes are short (four bolts or less), easily top roped, and mostly between 5.5 - 5.9.
